Brivo Cloud Access Control in Austin and Across Texas

Brivo is a cloud-managed access-control platform for administering doors, users, credentials, schedules and activity across one or many locations. Avenger Security designs, installs, transfers and supports Brivo systems for commercial properties in Austin, Central Texas and other Texas service areas.

An active Brivo subscription is required. Hardware, installation, credentials and recurring software service are quoted separately so the full operating cost is clear.

Cloud control with local door intelligence

Authorized administrators can manage users and credentials, review activity and control supported doors through Brivo's web and mobile tools. Brivo states that compatible panels retain credentials and rules locally so normal door decisions can continue during an internet interruption. Remote management and cloud reporting require connectivity.

Credentials and reader choices

Depending on the selected edition and hardware, Brivo can support mobile credentials, cards, fobs and PINs. New installations generally benefit from modern encrypted credentials and OSDP reader communication. Existing Wiegand wiring or readers may sometimes be reused after compatibility and condition are verified, but Wiegand is a legacy protocol and may not provide the same security capabilities.

Door hardware is part of the design

The cloud platform makes the access decision, but the physical opening must work safely and reliably. We review each door for the appropriate reader, controller, power, door contact, request-to-exit device and locking hardware.

• Fail-secure electric strikes, electrified locksets or motorized latch retraction are preferred where the opening and code requirements allow.
• Magnetic locks are not our standard approach and are considered only when the door, life-safety design and authority having jurisdiction support them.
• Request-to-exit devices monitor or suppress egress-related events; they are not used as the only means of releasing a door where free egress is required.
• Final hardware and fire-alarm interface requirements follow the approved plans, listed equipment and the authority having jurisdiction.

Transferring an existing Brivo account

We can review an existing Brivo site, confirm the account and hardware details, and coordinate the transfer process. A Brivo account transfer typically carries a $180–$220 administrative fee; the exact amount will be confirmed before authorization. Repairs, programming changes or hardware replacement are separate if needed.

New-service consultation at no cost

New clients considering Brivo service can receive an on-site visit and up to one hour of initial consultation at no cost. We will review the openings, existing hardware, network needs and administrative goals, then prepare a door-by-door proposal.

Existing-system troubleshooting and repair are billable service work. Our standard existing-system site visit is $195 where applicable, with additional technical labor quoted according to the work required.
